Online · Instructor-Supported · Weekly Live Sessions · Morning, Afternoon & Weekend Cohorts
The Medical Assistant — Front Office program is an instructor-supported online program completed over approximately 14 weeks. Unlike self-paced programs, this course includes weekly live online sessions with your instructor — giving you real-time guidance, accountability, and direct support throughout your training.
Students attend one required live session per week online, following a structured cohort schedule with morning, afternoon, and weekend options. This format is ideal for students who benefit from a guided learning environment and regular instructor interaction.
Upon completion, students are eligible to sit for the NHA national certification exam for Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA). No in-person lab component or externship is required — all instruction takes place online.
WMTC is partnered with NHA. The curriculum, online experience, and certification support are provided by one of the nation's leading healthcare credentialing institutions, equipping students for career-long success in the medical field.
Certified Medical Administrative Assistant | CMAA — NHAA Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) is a healthcare professional who manages the front office operations of medical practices and healthcare facilities. CMAAs are responsible for scheduling appointments, managing patient records, handling insurance billing and coding, processing referrals, answering patient inquiries, and ensuring smooth day-to-day administrative operations. The NHA CMAA credential is a nationally recognized certification that demonstrates competency in medical office administration and is valued by employers across all healthcare settings.
Medical Administrative Assistants are in demand across a wide range of healthcare settings.
This program is instructor-supported with weekly live online sessions — it is not a self-paced course. Students follow a cohort schedule and are expected to attend one live session per week with their instructor.
If you are looking for a fully self-paced option with no required session times, see our Medical Office Assistant program ($1,200), which allows you to complete coursework entirely on your own schedule.
